Description
Château La Picherie is positioned on a great terroir on the argilo calcaire plateau of Montagne just a few minutes drive north of Saint-Emilion.
Being on the plateau, the vines are protected from frost, which has been a huge advantage in recent years.
The property is owned by Rodolphe Gimberteau (along with Mayne Graves and La Courolle), and the oenologue has been Thomas Duclos for many years (famous for his work at Troplong Mondot, Beau Séjour Bécot and Canon).
The blend is mainly Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc added.
Merlot balanced with a bit of Petit Verdot aged in oak for14 months, this has a velvety texture on the palate with a long really smooth finish
