Old Dog New Tricks pours a deep, opaque black with a thick, lingering tan head.
On the nose, you get inviting aromas of freshly brewed espresso, bitter baking chocolate, and a faint, earthy whisper from the traditional English hops.
The first sip is incredibly smooth and creamy, delivering a luxurious, velvety mouthfeel thanks to the heavy dose of flaked oats.
As it develops on the palate, big, complex layers of dark chocolate, rich roasted malt, and a subtle hint of dark caramel emerge.
It eventually gives way to a perfectly dry, roasty finish with just a touch of classic, earthy hop bitterness to balance the malt sweetness.
A beautiful, comforting, and deeply satisfying stout.
