Description
Hafod Brewing Company was founded in May 2011 in Mold, North Wales.
After visiting relatives down in the Big Smoke brewer Phill decided to brew some London-inspired beers. This ESB and our session pale London Pale.
To make ESB, Phill has adapted the profile of our Welsh water to match the water profile in London by adding different minerals to the beer.
For a twist on the traditional style we have used Belgian yeast rather than the traditional English ale yeast which adds distinctive fruity, banana and clove aromas to the finished beer. The yeasty aromas compliment this strong full-bodied beer to produce a very satisfying drop.
So this ESB is less of an Extra Special Bitter and more of an Extra Special ‘Belgian’!
