Description
Like all Henstone Whisky, this is a single malt, from a single cask and has NOT been chill filtered or coloured.
The spirit spent it’s first four years in ex-Jim Beam casks and was then transferred to a 225 litre Charlemagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blanc, 100% Chardonnay Champagne, French Oak Barrique
The result is a distinctive whisky, bright, fresh, and vibrant, with a lovely little “fizz” of citrus and fruit on the palate.
Nose: Crisp green apple, white pear and white grapes.
Palate: Grapefruit, white peach, ginger and pear, with a vibrant, sherbet-like acidity that gives a wonderfully fizzy sensation on the tongue — almost like fizzy banana sweets.
Finish: Toasted almond, soft oak tannins, white pepper and a clean, refreshing minerality.
