Description
Petz was the nickname of my great-grandfather, Walter Baer.
The Petz Red Wine is a field blend, where Syrah and Merlot grapes from vineyards in Edenkoben and Hambach are harvested and fermented together. After pressing, the wine aged for 12 months in wooden barrels and was bottled unfiltered.
On the nose, juicy aromas of dark berries such as plum, black cherry, and blackberry meet delicate spicy notes and licorice.
On the palate, the wine presents a distinct and highly drinkable structure, with intense fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet.
Fine-grained tannins and fruity-spicy nuances lend the finish a remarkable length.
